A swoon-worthy voice and some mesmerizing compositions quickly made them win the hearts of many indie music lovers, which includes a huge tour across the UK, Australia, and the US this year.
Now the celebrity‘s new year has got even better thanks to a sweet recognition from pop music queen Taylor Swift.
G Flip gets emotional over Taylor Swift’s sweet appreciation
Singer G Flip recently covered Taylor Swift’s huge hit Cruel Summer with a fun little twist of their own. The slightly more rock-ish and grungy version of the song they sang swiftly caught the attention of Taylor Swift fans. Reality TV star Chrishell Stause also tagged Taylor Swift in the video, urging her to listen to the cover.
The mention worked as Taylor Swift found the cover and liked it prompting both the Selling Sunset star and the musician to get excited. Chrishell Stause went on to wish to see Tay Tay in G Flip’s Australia tour next.
Followed by Tay Tay’s like to the cover, G Flip took to Instagram to share their heartfelt gratitude saying: “I just woke up and I’m looking at my phone and it’s blowing up because Taylor Swift liked my cover of Cruel Summer. Thank you so much, Taylor, for liking it. I’m really trying not to cry”

While talking about the song, G Flip did not forget to include that Cruel Summer truly is “one of the best pop songs written of all time.” They also gushed over the iconic bridge of the track saying, “That bridge is the best bridge ever written.” Swifties will definitely agree with that statement!
But G Flip’s rendition of the song gave it that oomph that also attracted fans as they explained: “I just wanted to put my own spin on it and write new string parts and a new arrangement, but still use little hints of the original, that magic.”
