People go nuts for Spanx’s AirEssentials collection, and it’s easy to see why: it seems like almost every review praises the pieces for being soft, comfortable, and easy to wear, whether it’s a simple half-zip or a jumpsuit. Oprah even put it on her Favorite Things lists several years in a row, and we all know she has the best taste.  

That’s why I was thrilled to see the brand added a tunic style to the AirEssentials collection. Spanx’s AirEssentials Turtleneck Tunic is made from the brand’s signature airy fabric that’s super soft and has four-way stretch. The fabric allows for optimal airflow, which can be perfect for situations with uncontrollable or uncomfortable temperatures, like airplanes and offices. 

Available in sizes XS to 3XL, the machine-washable top comes in four yummy colors that pair well with the neutrals in the rest of the collection, including powder white, classic navy, black, and dark petrol green, which is currently sold out. In fact, it’s currently selling quickly on the site despite having just debuted; limited sizing is available, however you can find it more in stock at Nordstrom (for now). I’m almost certain its popularity is thanks to its best feature — its length. It promises to be long enough to cover your front and behind when worn with leggings, which shoppers say makes it “work appropriate” and “elegant.” 

Spanx sizing can be a little all over the place for me, but I heeded the advice of the reviews section that it runs large and stuck with my usual size. It’s slightly boxy through the body, with a nice drop sleeve and an oversized neck hole. There are two side vents that start right at my hips for movement and a nice peek-a-boo effect, and I’m delighted to say it does in fact cover my entire rear end.
