The first steps have been taken to replace one of the oldest housing projects in the state. The Laurel Housing Authority is in the process of getting a $14.1 million grant to build 124 new public housing units to replace the Triangle Homes off South Maple Street.

Laurel councilmen unanimously agreed to donate city-owned property at 315 South 4th Avenue to the LHA to help with the planned redevelopment.
