The officers took photos which they shared online, attracting applause for the boy.

Named Michael, the teen said he came up with the idea to help raise his school fees and other learning utilities as he awaits the reopening of schools after President Yoweri Museveni ordered their closure following a spike in COVID-19.

He sells the crafted cars at 40,000 UGX (KSh 1,200) each. His intent with the monies is to buy scholastic materials once schools are reopened and also support his family.

The boy's initiative warmed the hearts of many who lauded him for going against the grain, his age notwithstanding, to raise his fees, as well as fending for his family.
